Mission
The Core Community Coalition seeks to elevate the quality of life for minority and needy citizens through shared advocacy, collaborative leadership, education, and access to opportunities. The coalition shall provide resources and advocacy to solve critical problems facing our community.

Core Community Coalition will become the preeminent advocate and leader for community engagement, economic inclusion, and educational access that ignites the latent power in our people that creates opportunities and equity for the underserved in Cleveland County and surrounding communities.
program goals
In keeping with its mission to elevate the quality of life and build leadership capacity by working in concert with coalition partners, the following program goals will be the focus of the Core Community Coalition.
ARPA Partnership Project
Core has joined with 7 other local and 4 statewide partners to advocate for public investments by engaging with local elected, community and faith leaders to drive American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA 2021) dollars towards communities that have been historically excluded from the process of appropriations. They seek investments in education for youth and families, as well as reentry services for justice-involved individuals.
HBCU College & Career Fair
To play an instrumental role in shaping the landscape of higher education by providing a pathway to opportunity, access and empowerment
VOTER INITIATIVE PROJECT
Seeks to engage and promote non-partisan participation, voter education and advocate for policy, research, and goals.
COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS
Aims to create a space and/or forums where community members can come together to address pressing issues and share their perspectives, experiences, and ideas about issues that are important to them and/or the community.
EDUCATION SUMMIT
Focuses on data that reveals the need for the community to continue efforts to support achievement at high levels for all students, and to expand efforts to close the academic achievement gap.

In 1999, the Core Group of Cleveland County was introduced as a self-motivated team of professional community-based advocates working collectively to make the academic journey of minority students a successful path. Over the years, the group has continually innovated and collaborated with other community and education partners to address other social, economic, and educational issues and concerns. Today, the group has re-structured as the Core Community Coalition a newly formed 501 © (3) organization working collaboratively to create educational and economic opportunities and play a central role in communicating and coordinating strategic initiatives to accelerate progress and collective impact.As a tax-exempt nonprofit organization, the CORE Community Coalition seeks to continue to elevate the quality of life within the minority community through collaborative leadership, education, and access to opportunities Moreover, the group’s mission is to also continue to advance a shared vision, organizational sustainability, to coordinate strategic and tactical initiatives, as well as leverage its resources to accelerate progress and collective impact.
milestone
From its humble beginning in 1999, this year marks 25 years of persistent and steadfast commitment to better education outcomes, opportunities, and high expectations for our youths. The group was active in sponsoring a variety of activities such as Male and Female Forums, Distinguished Image Awards and Scholarship Program, The Annual Education Summit, Faith-Based Forums, High School AP Programs, Community Math Academy, and the Leadership Academy. As a new 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, the CORE Community Coalition Inc. seeks to continue to elevate the quality of life within the minority community through collaborative leadership, education, and access to opportunities.
